Egg Hunt

(Here's a big problem of mine. I am horrible with the camera. The problem isn't that I take bad pictures. The problem is that I don't take ANY pictures. I get so caught up in the ideal "Kodak moments," that I don't want to miss anything by grabbing a camera to take a shot or two. Then afterwards, I always regret it. Always.)

I'm fairly new to this Easter tradition of baskets and eggs, since we never did such things in our family growing up. Personally, I don't discuss the whole concept of the Easter bunny to our boys, because quite frankly, I don't really understand it myself. Santa was hard for me...the Bunny has to be where I draw the line. Forgive me...I realize it's quirky. On the other hand, I wanted to surprise the kids with fun, little baskets and have an exciting egg hunt for them. Thankfully, they never inquired the reasons for eggs, because I don't quite understand that either. In any case, it's fun, so we did it.

Once again, I regret not recording the egg hunt on video or camera. It was one of the most adorable and fun moments I have ever seen from the kids. I'm pretty sure I got so caught up in the moment that a squeal or giggle came out of me as well as from the kids. I shouted out clues for them to find the trickier ones, especially for Nathan, since Ben apparently was a master egg finder! Concerned that more adorable moments would go unrecorded, Matt finally ran for the camera AFTER all the eggs were collected. He got a few shots of them opening the eggs and finding the little prizes. Owen absolutely loved the egg shells and started to roll and wiggle around in them. (Note: Need to get him a little ball pit.) Ben decided to do another egg hunt for Nathan and me later on in the day. He also gave clues, such as this one: "If you want to fold the laundry, go to the laundry and find the egg!" To my surprise, there was an egg on the pile of laundry!!

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!
